THE POSITION
PenMet Parks in Gig Harbor, WA, is seeking a Director of Administrative Services. This role provides highly responsible oversight, leadership, and day-to-day management of the District’s internal and external administrative operations. Gig Harbor offers a charming and vibrant community with picturesque views and a rich maritime history. The ideal candidate will support PenMet Parks’ mission and objectives through effective administrative operations and exemplary support services.In this pivotal role, you will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to enhancing the quality of life by providing parks and recreation opportunities for the community. The successful candidate will have a passion for public service and a track record of effective program management, community engagement, and strategic leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop and manage the vision, mission, goals, and strategic plan for Administrative Services.
Plan, implement, and oversee administrative operations to ensure efficiency and professionalism.
Develop and maintain administrative policies and procedures to advance District goals and ensure regulatory compliance.
Oversee human resources practices, policies, and programs.
Manage communication and public relations activities to keep the community informed.
Oversee community use of District parks and facilities.
Plan and direct the District’s volunteer program and community engagement activities.
Develop and manage the division’s operating budget.
Coach, mentor, and train staff, ensuring a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in administrative management, public administration, communications, or a related field.
Eight years of increasingly responsible experience in administrative management, including four years of supervision experience.
Knowledge of administrative management, human resources, and communications practices.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Valid Washington driver’s license.
